A mix of hotels, individual shops and restaurants.

On one corner is the Old Bank, with lovely carved scenes of Shakespeare on and opposite is the Town Hall with the words 'God Save The King' painted on. The King was George III and the Town Hall was built in his reign to replace an old market hall.

At the opposite end of Chapel Street from the Town Hall  is a beautiful  three storied black and white building which is Nash's House.  New Place is the house where Shakespeare and his family lived, it is situated on the corner of Chapel Street and Chapel Lane.  Now a town museum, it was once the home of Thomas Nash who married the girl next door, Shakespeare's granddaughter Elizabeth.  Walk across the top of Chapel Lane over to the next corner and there is the Guild Chapel, parts of which date back to the 13th century.
